Family Therapy
“The way to free your feelings is simply to feel them.” – Shaeri Richards
With family therapy a therapist ideally will want to involve as many family members in the therapy as possible, however family therapy may be conducted with a single family member. Whether working with one or a family unit, therapists look at the entire family system as well as the community, school, and work environments to determine ways to help families improve their lives. Individual or family problems cannot be resolved without first understanding the larger system or environment.
When To Come In For Family Therapy
Family is one of the most important connections you can have. However sometimes the stresses of life, the need for a better work-life balance, a family crisis or mental health challenges for one or more family members can bring a family to its knees leaving a family struggling to find answers. Even the best of families sometimes need outside help at one point or another to help navigate issues that arise.
If you or your family are feeling as the issues you are experiencing are too big to handle any longer, then begin by setting up an appointment and start taking the steps needed to bring resolution and peace back to you and your family.
How Can Family Therapy Help?
The choice to seek family therapy is a big one, but certainly does not mean that you’ve failed or that your problems are not normal and cannot be resolved. The primary focus of family therapy is on healing people’s relationships as a primary pathway to recovery.
