A limited licensed psychologist or LLP can treat clients with mental or emotional problems, but the services that they provide are limited until they complete doctoral studies.
An LPC is a licensed professional counselor. LPCs provide mental health services that focus on behavioral, emotional and mental issues in various healthcare settings. Depending on the state, they may be called a licensed clinical professional counselor, licensed mental health counselor or something similar.
Therapists, or psychotherapists are licensed mental health professionals who specialize in helping clients develop better cognitive and emotional skills, reduce symptoms of mental illness, and cope with various life challenges to improve their lives.
Other Opportunities Available
Our practice offers full year practicums and internships for students at the graduate or post graduate level of Psychology. Students will be exposed to a variety of learning experiences including therapy, psychological testing, supervision, and educational opportunities. Our internship program strives to foster competencies and skills necessary for success in the practice of Psychology, to promote the personal and professional growth of the students.
